Maria's bed
the bed needed to be stable enough for Maria & the children to stand and dance on top of
the mattress we had was too soft, so we decided to use the box spring and add a 3/4" plywood on top for stability. we attached the plywood to the bed frame using pipe hanger strap to prevent it from moving
benches
the benches in "Sixteen Going On Seventeen" also needed to be stable for actors to dance on top of
we added a 3/4" plywood to the bottom of the bench & painted it black. on top, we added a pig weight. our props designer disguised it with ivy
